The Artist

Roger College has been drawing and painting for over 45 years. As an artist, he is endlessly intrigued by the many ways to fill works of art with emotional authenticity and communicative nuance. He is eager to share his unique creative approach with other artists — whether just beginning their artistic journey or well on their way — who want to learn how to uncover new levels of life in their art. His guidance helps artists approach their own creative process with an open curiosity, relinquishing perfectionism and allowing art to emerge authentically.

Roger’s own artistic creations serve as an ode to the various human and non-human forms and figures of the natural world and their roles as generative sources of inspiration, protection, beauty, and wisdom. His exploration of mediums is characterized by both breadth and depth: his work spans acrylics, watercolor, color pencil, charcoal, egg tempera, and pastel. An enthusiastic connoisseur of his tools, he loves to make his own watercolor paints from pigments. His color pencil work has been featured by Caran d’Ache, and his original works can be found on the walls of businesses in the California Bay Area from Monterey to Santa Cruz.

From photography to homemade pasta to building amplifiers, his projects and passions know no bounds. He currently lives in Aptos, California with his wife Kelle and his charismatic canine accomplice Remi.
